Dangers of Spray Sunscreen

Spray-on sunscreen is SO dangerous! Not only is it flammable, but it may be harmful to your skin and lungs (and overall health). Don’t let your kids be guinea pigs in this experiment – the FDA has been deciding since 2011 whether spray sunscreens are safe, and in the meantime, the market is exploding with them!

Two greatest risks of the active ingredients in conventional sunscreens are:

  • hormone disruptors that act as estrogen in the body after being absorbed through the skin and are also potent allergens for some children
  • free radicals (cancer-causing!) formed when the sunscreen reacts chemically with the sun

If it’s not safe for your skin, it’s certainly not safe for your lungs. Ditch the sprays!
