Vaccines – How Do I Research Ingredients?
Did you ever think about what is in vaccines? I know I didn’t. Most people just walk into the doctor’s office and never ask. Dr Jones says, “It’s time for your vaccines, so roll up your sleeve.” You as the obedient person, just roll up your sleeve and take the shots. When you have kids, you obsess about everything. What they eat, the car seats, are they warm enough, cool enough, getting enough sleep or too much sleep. For some reason we never question vaccines. This series is going to teach you how to find the ingredients, how to research them, and lost of information about them.
Did you know that most doctors and nurses don’t know much about the ingredients in vaccines? They know about Thimerosal (mercury) and maybe aluminum but what about all the other ingredients? Some have never opened a package insert, much less looked at what is in them.
Each vaccine has different ingredients called excipients or adjuvants. They can be detergents, pesticides, fungicides, heavy metals, and other things. In my search for information, I have found out some disturbing things. Some of these chemicals are considered hazardous.
Let’s talk about the Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets…the MSDS.
Every chemical has these. Each company that uses these chemicals has to provide the MSDS which lists all the information about that chemical: Hazards, environmental impacts, carcinogenic and toxic effects on people. The MSDS will list alternative names for that chemical, and believe me, there are many names for the same thing. If you look at the CDC ingredients pink book pdf, you can see all of these chemicals. All the chemicals are listed.

Let’s just take 1 vaccine: Pentacel.
Pentacel is a combination vaccine with 6 vaccines in 1 syringe. It contains DTaP (Diptheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis), IPV (Polio), and Hib ( for meningitis, pneumonia and other infections).
Here are the ingredients listed for Pentacel:
“aluminum phosphate, polysorbate 80, sucrose, formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, bovine serum albumin, 2-phenoxyethanol, neomycin, polymyxin B sulfate, modified Mueller’s growth medium, ammonium sulfate, modified Mueller-Miller casamino acid medium without beef heart infusion, Stainer-Scholte medium, casamino acids, dimethyl-beta-cyclodextrin. glutaraldehyde, MRC-5 cells (a line of normal human diploid cells), CMRL 1969 medium supplemented with calf serum, Medium 199 without calf serum, modified Mueller and Miller medium”
Let’s pick one ingredient from this list. How about 2-phenoxyethanol.
To find the MSDS for this, copy and paste it into your internet search box and add MSDS after the name.
One of the first that pops up is usually Science Lab.
Let’s open this page:

p. 1 1 3 0 Health Fire Reactivity Personal Protection 3 1 0 H Material Safety Data Sheet 2-Phenoxyethanol MSDS Section 1: Chemical Product and Company Identification |
Section 1 has synonyms – other names for the same chemical – Ethylene glycol monophenyl ether
Section 2 is startling if you haven’t ever looked at these.
Potential Acute Health Effects:
Extremely hazardous in case of eye contact (irritant). Very hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant), of ingestion, of inhalation. Inflammation of the eye is characterized by redness, watering, and itching. Skin inflammation is characterized by itching, scaling,
reddening, or, occasionally, blistering.
Potential Chronic Health Effects: (Look at what is NOT available for this chemical in this section.)
Extremely hazardous in case of eye contact (irritant). Very hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant), of ingestion, of inhalation. CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: Not available. ( A teratogen is an agent that can disturb the development of the embryo or fetus. Teratogens halt the pregnancy or produce a congenital malformation or a birth defect), DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Not available. The substance is toxic to kidneys, the nervous system, liver. Repeated or prolonged exposure to the substance can produce target organs damage. Repeated or prolonged inhalation of vapors may lead to chronic respiratory irritation
Scroll down to Section 11 for more toxicity information. Are you starting to see something here? In any other application, this is hazardous. Toxic. But in vaccines it magically becomes safe. Does it matter that the amounts are tiny? Consider pregnant mama gets this ingredient and it crosses the placenta. Baby gets 3 more of these shots when they are tiny. Minute amounts become larger amounts.
These symbols in the MSDS mean chemical irritant and toxic chemical.
Let’s go to google and put the same chemical 2-phenoxyethanol in the search box and add Uses after the name.
Pick several and have a look. I chose Wikipedia first which isn’t my favorite but it does give a list.
“Phenoxyethanol is used as a perfume fixative; an insect repellent; an antiseptic; a solvent for cellulose acetate, dyes, inks, and resins; a preservative for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and lubricants; an anesthetic in fish aquaculture; and in organic synthesis.
Phenoxyethanol is an alternative to formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.”
Does it matter how small an amount of a chemical is in a vaccine? Let’s think about DTaP and TDaP. Mommy gets the vaccines in the 3rd trimester. This chemical and others cross the placenta and cross the blood brain barrier which is not developed fully yet. Baby is born. Baby receives more toxic chemicals…in minute amounts at birth, and then gets 3 more doses of this chemical at 2, 4, and 6 months at the well baby check up. 6 of the ingredients in Pentacel are labeled hazardous in any MSDS sheet you find. No one knows the synergistic effects of the cocktail of chemicals (the way they mix together and affect the body and brain).
I think you can understand where I’m going. It is up to us as parents to learn about things today. Food additives, pesticides, household cleaners, and vaccines all have toxic chemicals. Cancer is on the rise. Autoimmune issues, allergies, neurological issues and more are on the rise. It’s up to us to learn, and become an advocate for our families.
Your assignment if you choose to accept it, is to pick another ingredient in the ingredient list for Pentacel. Get a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or your favorite Kombucha. Find the MSDS for your ingredient and then the Uses. If you like, you can comment on this post, and tell us about your search. Research, grow in knowledge and gain confidence.
